In the unofficial Space: the Convergence design forums, we discussed combining artifacts and enchantments into one type, and auras, equipments, and fortifications into another type.

For reference, our version of STC used these types:

Resource = Land
Tactic = Instant
Strategy = Sorcery
Unit = Creature
Creation
Creation - Device = Artifact
Creation - Agenda = Enchantment
Mod(ification)
Mod - Equipment = Equipment
Mod - Transformation = Aura
Mod - Terraform = Fortification
Commander = Planeswalker

If we were to do that with Magic, what would we call them?

Zones
Existence = Battlefield
Archive = Library
Reserve = Hand
Scrapyard = Graveyard
Void = Exile zone

Keyword actions
Issue = cast
Research = draw a card
Deploy = put into existence
Appear = come into existence
Disappear = leave existence
Scrap = destroy
Withdraw = move from existence to owner's hand
Bury = move from existence to the graveyard
Void = move into the void
Fizzle = counter (an spell or ability or object on the stack)
Clone = token
Displace = puts the top card of archive into scrapyard

Testing a new format for keywords, in the form Keyword < ? set1 {set2} : {set3}>.

Homebound < ? card type {abilities1} : {abilities2}>
Homebound means "This object has these abilities1 as long as you control this card type. Otherwise it has abilities2."

e.g.
Dwarven Homemaker

Creature > Dwarf
Homebound < ? Plains {First strike, vigilance}> (This creature has first strike and vigilance as long as you control a Plains.)

First card ever that mentions the phrase "keyword ability/ies"?

Amuseum's Shapeshifter

Creature - Shapeshifter (MR)
~ has all keyword abilities of all creatures on the battlefield and all creature cards in all graveyards.

Verbose sentences take longer for eyes to scan and the brain to process. Shortening certain things can make mental parsing instantaneous.

Presenting conditionals in the brief form:
